Datuk Pang Yuk Ming Dilantik Timbalan Presiden LDP Yang Baru

Datuk Pang Yuk Ming (gambar kecil) telah dilantik sebagai Timbalan Presiden LDP yang baru, bagi menggantikan Datuk Chin Su Phin yang telah dilucutkan daripada jawatannya.

Mesyuarat Majlis Tertinggi parti itu yang ke-26 yang berlangsung di Sandakan pagi tadi telah sebulat suara memilih ADUN Merotai itu yang juga Pembantu Menteri Pelancongan, Kebudayaan dan Alam Sekitar Negeri Sabah.

Pang adalah Naib Presiden Parti sejak tahun 2006. Sebelum ini, dalam satu kenyataan, beliau menyatakan tidak menyebelahi mana-mana pihak dalam krisis parti yang bermula pada 27 Ogos lalu, apabila Datuk Teo Chee Kang yang juga Menteri Tugas-Tugas Khas di kabinet Sabah dilucutkan jawatannya daripada parti, kerana melanggar disiplin dan pelembagaan parti. Sebaliknya, beliau menyatakan bahawa beliau menjunjung Perlembagaan parti. 

Mesyuarat Majlis Tertinggi ke-26 parti pada hari ini telah mendapat maklum balas Mesyuarat Majlis Presiden yang diadakan pada 31 ogos, juga diadakan di Sandakan.

Dalam mesyuarat MT itu juga telah menerima keputusan Presiden yang melucutkan Jawatan Setiausaha Agung parti yang dilantiknya pada tahun 2006, kerana perlantikan itu terletak sepenuhnya di tangan Presiden sepertimana termaktub dalam Perlembagaan Parti. Untuk itu, MT berpendapat, bahawa tindakan itu demi keharmonian parti.

Pada mesyuarat itu juga, MT menerima keputusan Majlis Presiden yang melucutkan dan atau menggantung beberapa pemimpin yang melanggar disiplin parti termasuk Datuk Chin Su Phin

Demi kelancaran pengurusan dan perjalanan parti, pada mesyuarat MT parti ke-26, telah melantik beberapa pemimpin baru bagi mengisi kekosongan jawatan Majlis Tertinggi dan atau anggota Majlis Presiden kerana akibat pelucutan dan pengantungan beberapa pemimpin yang memlakukan onar dalam parti sebelum ini.

PRESS STATEMENT FROM DATUK LIEW VUI KEONG, PRESIDENT OF LIBERAL DEMOCRATIC PARTY.

SANDAKAN :-

1.                   The Supreme Council convened its 26th Meeting today in the presence of thirty-five members. The Secretary General confirmed that there was enough quorum and the meeting begun at 10 am sharp.

2.                   The Supreme Council members who were appointed by the President are as follow :-

3.                   At the begining of the meeting, the Supreme Council was informed that the Notice of the Meeting issued by the Executive Secretary on Friday 8th September 2013 was sent to all the existing Supreme Council members and the Supreme Council also allowed a resolution proposed by a member to shorten the Notice periods from seven days to two days, as required by the proviso in the Rules. The resolution was unaminously agreed.

4.                   The Supreme Council

(i)                   Was informed of the President’s decision on 27th August 2013 to relieve YB Datuk Teo Chee Kang as the Secretary General of the Party whom he appointed since 2006 and replaced him with Saudara Loretto Padua Jr., Chairman of the Karambunai Division, with immediate effect.

(ii)                 Was informed of the suspension of the Ketua Wanita, Nancy Lim Guah Eng, from the Central Wanita Movement, who is said to have been involved in an alleged misappropriation of the Wanita’s account, and the Movement is now under the care of the President.

(iii)                Resolved to accept the decision of the President in the above matters  and welcome the new Secretary General and at the same time recorded their deepest appreciation to the services rendered by YB Datuk Teo Chee Kang and Ms Nancy Lim

(iv)               Was informed of the President’s decision on 30th August 2013 to relieve the following from their positions in the Party.


i.      Mr Ho Jia Lit, the Deputy Secretary-General,
ii.     Mr Fong Keng Sin J.P, the Treasurer-General,
iii.    Mr Albert Ngan Yun Kiang, the Deputy Treasurer-General,
iv.      Mr Albert Kok Yuk Ken, the Chief Publicity Officer and
v.       Mr Yong Wui Chung, the Organizing Secretary.

(v)                 Was informed that on the same day (i.e 30th August 2013), the President appointed the following members to replace them with immediate effect. They are :-

i.         Mr Michael Tham Thien Fui as the Deputy Secretary- General,
ii.        YB Charles O. Pang as the Treasurer- General,
iii.      Mr Peter Liew Vui Ching as the Deputy Treasurer-General,
iv.      Mr Yap Mah Chun as the Chief Publicity Officer, and
v.       Mr Lee Hing Huat as the Organizing Secretary.

(vi)               Resolved to accept the decision of the President in the above matter and welcome them and at the same time recorded their deepest appreciation to the services rendered by them.


(vii)              Was informed that the Presidential Council was convened on 31st August 2013 with the presence of the President, the new Secretary General, the Treasurer General, the new Chief Publicity Officer, the new Organising Secretary, and three members namely Mr Christopher Lee, Robert Lee Chiew Fah and Michael David Tsen who were appointed by the President to the meeting. There was altogether eight (8) members when the meeting begun at 12 noon. Notice of the meeting was sent to all the existing members of the Presidential Council vide email on 30th August 2013.

(viii)            Received report from the Presidential Council concerning its activities on 31st August 2013 in that the Presidential Council

i.                     had removed from the Supreme Council :-

ii.                    had removed and suspended from positions in the Party pending action from the Disciplinary Committee-

17.              Mr Robert Cheong Kian Ming and
18.              Mr Saudara Michael Tsang

iii.                  had given the grounds of the decision to remove and suspended the above and are seen in the letters given to them by the Secretary General.

iv.                  had empowered the President to fill in the vacancies left by reason of the removal or suspension of the members of the Supreme Council above.

(ix)               Resolved to accept the report by the Presidential Council with the decision made in respect of the above matters.

  1. The Supreme Council also resolved and declared that there was no supreme council held at any time before this one and any meeting held without notice from the Executive Secretary and/or the Secretary General is thereby illegal and contravenes the Party’s Constitution. Hence, the so-called meeting led by the suspended Deputy President held on Friday 6th September 2013 is illegal and void ab initio. Any decisions made or statements given thereof by him or Datuk Teo Chee Kang or anyone on their behalf concerning the Party have no legal or any binding effect on the Party whatsoever. The members are urged to ignore them.

  1. The Supreme Council also took notice of the newspapers report on last Friday where it was reported that the Party’s Ex Secretary General YB Datuk Teo Chee Kang that he had filed an action in Court on Friday. As at today, no court documents or whatsoever had been served on the Secretary General, Mr Loretto Padua Jr. @ Damien Padua Jr II, who is the Party’s Public Officer. The Supreme Council therefore took the advise not to issue any statement on this matter until the court papers have been served.

  1. The Supreme Council also deliberated extensively on the conducts and behaviours of the members who were since removed from the Supreme Council on 31st August 2013. Their conducts and behaviours have continued to bring the Party into disrepute, hatred and contempt and their blatant disregard to the Party’s interest and the Party’s Constitution have cause disaffection and disunity amongst the Party members. They have rebelled against te Party and have no respect to the Party’s Constitution. Further, they have been given ample time to resolve the matters or disputes, if any, with the President but they refused, failed and/or neglected to do so. In this regards, the Supreme Council resolved that it is desirable in the interests of the Party that the President to suspend the following members from all their positions immediately in the Party pending inquiry from the Disciplinary Committee. They are :-

  1. The Supreme Council also resolves to accept the appointment of Mr Alex Lo Ket Hau as the Party’s Central Youth Chief and YB Datuk Pang Yuk Ming as the Party’s new Deputy President with immediate effect. The other appointments will be made known later.
