SEMALAM OKB sempat borak-borak dengan seorang pemimpin DAP kawasan DUN Luyang Kota Kinabalu. Perkara yang diceritakannya adalah kemungkin ADUN Luyang Dr Hiew king Cheu akan keluar daripada DAP dan menjadi ADUN Bebas.
Dr Hiew adalah mantan MP Kota Kinabalu daripada 2008-2013, sebelum bertanding di peringkat DUN pada PRU-13 lalu.
Pada PRU-13, Hiew menang dengan majoriti 8,676 mengalahkan tiga calon lain daripada MCA, SAPP dan STAR. Hiew mendapat undi 11,213, sementara calon Bn Agnes Shim daripada MCA mendapat undi 2,537.
Hiew berdepan dengan masalah dalaman parti apabila ADUN DAP yang lain daripada Sabah membuat cadangan agar mengambil tindakan terhadap beliau kerana engkar kesepakatan antara mereka dalam pemilihan Ketua Pembangkang DUN Sabah antara Datuk Lajim Ukin dan Datuk Welfred Mojilip Bumburing.
Namun, apa yang menjadi lucu daripada cerita pemimpin akar umbi DAP itu, tindakan DUN Luyang itu bercanggah dengan pilihan ADUN Dap lain, atas sebab dorongan Ketua Menteri Sabah Datuk Musa Haji Aman.
Menurut cerita di kalangan ahli akar umbi DAP kawasan Luyang, Hiew kononnya diberi ganjaran kewangan oleh Musa untuk keluar daripada partinya.

Sabah DAP Luyang assemblyman Hiew King Cheu is toying with the idea of leaving the party to be an independent.
Hiew said that he was now getting feedback from his supporters to see what would be the best step for him to take if he decided to leave DAP.
“The people have supported me and if being where I am does not bring development to my constituents, then five years until the next general election without any improvement would be waste of time and a loss to the people,” said the former Kota Kinabalu MP.
“I have received some feedback from supporters and majority of them advised me to get out and find alternatives to do what can be done for the people,” he explained.
Hiew, who is also the Sabah DAP advisor, said that the chances of changing the government as hoped before the May 5 polls was no longer possible.
“Five years is a long time and instead of me not getting anything done and having to withstand being played around within my own party, it is better that I consider other options which is best to the people,” he said, adding it did not necessarily mean he has to join Barisan Nasional for that.
“I am still waiting for more feedback. I am in no rush to make any decisions,” he said.
Trouble started to brew within the Sabah DAP when four party YBs complained to DAP’s disciplinary board to take actions against Hiew for supporting PKR’s Datuk Lajim Ukin instead of Tamparuli assemblyman Datuk Wilfred Bumburing for the post of state opposition leader in June.
“My members are trying to kill me inside, but it is fine because with my experience and knowledge being so long in politics, I am sure I can do much better for my constituents if I really decide to go independent,” Hiew said.
“If I can take the pressure given by my own members, then the pressure I may face from the party would be nothing,” he added.
Hiew also described some of the DAP members as disrespectful and ungrateful for treating him the way he was being treated now.
In the recent general election, DAP won four state seats, PKR seven while the Sabah State Reform Party won one against the 48 won by the Barisan.
